A law firm is seeking a Junior Data Privacy Associate Attorney for their Austin office. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel on privacy and cybersecurity matters, including risk advisory, compliance counseling, transactional support, regulatory investigations, incident response, and litigation.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NIST, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Advise clients on compliance requirements and best practices regarding data protection and cybersecurity.
  • Assist in drafting and negotiating privacy-related agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Support in responding to regulatory inquiries and investigations related to data privacy and security.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel on privacy-related legal matters.
  • Assist in developing and delivering privacy training programs for clients and firm personnel.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility to waive into the jurisdiction.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in advising on privacy and cybersecurity issues.
  • Familiarity with prominent privacy and security frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, NIST, etc.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility to waive into the jurisdiction.
