Job Overview:

The Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling intellectual property matters, particularly focusing on patent and/or trade secret litigation within the life sciences sector. The role involves providing legal counsel, conducting research, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Managing intellectual property litigation cases, including patent and trade secret disputes, within the life sciences industry.
  • Conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborating with clients, experts, and other attorneys to develop case strategies and provide effective legal representation.
  • Analyzing complex technical and legal issues related to life sciences patents and trade secrets.
  • Providing counsel to clients on ongoing legal matters, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge in working on a broad spectrum of cases and counseling clients with respect to ongoing matters.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
