A law firm in Fresno, California is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers’ compensation cases. Responsible for all aspects of workers’ compensation cases, including evaluation, communication with clients, medical review, negotiation, settlement, and litigation if necessary. Manages a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases. Creates litigation and budget plans, conducts discovery, travels to court appearances, and tries cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction.

 

Duties:

  • Evaluate the merits of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to clients through effective communication.
  • Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases of varying complexity.
  • Create litigation and budget plans as necessary.
  • Conduct discovery and prepare cases for trial.
  • Travel to court and other appearances as required.
  • Try cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction.
  • Compose motions, briefs, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties to effectively represent clients.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation cases.
  • Experience in creating litigation and budget plans.
  • Proficiency in composing legal documents such as motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
