A law firm is seeking a Data Privacy And Cyber Security Associate Attorney for their San Francisco, CA office. Here's the job description:

Job Overview:

The Data Privacy And Cyber Security Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel on data privacy matters, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and assist with corporate transactions related to privacy and security due diligence.

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on data privacy matters, including compliance with CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, FTC Act, and other global privacy laws.
  • Draft and revise privacy notices, terms of service, incident response plans, and information security policies.
  • Negotiate professional services agreements, vendor/service provider agreements, and other commercial agreements involving data sharing.
  • Assist with corporate transactions by conducting privacy and security-related due diligence.
  • Prepare for and manage data breach incidents, including risk mitigation and coordination of responses.

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in California with excellent academic credentials.
  • 3+ years of experience specializing in providing legal advice on data protection matters.
  • Experience with compliance issues related to CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other global privacy laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, FCRA, GLBA, COPPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM is beneficial.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating various types of commercial agreements involving data sharing.
  • Familiarity with driving data breach preparation, risk mitigation, and response coordination.
  • IAPP CIPP certification (. and EU) is strongly preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in California.
  • IAPP CIPP certification (. and EU) is strongly preferred.
