Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel (AGC) to report to and assist the General Counsel with all legal matters. AGC will be responsible for helping coordinate corporate and tactical legal initiatives, managing the legal function, and obtaining and overseeing the work of outside counsel. This position will also be heavily involved with major contract negotiations, business networking functions, and the education and training of construction law and contract negotiations.

The AGC will also take a keen interest in developing the talent of Company personnel to further both their professional and personal development.

## Job Description

**Position: Associate General Counsel**

**Location: Atlanta, GA**

**Salary: Commensurate with experience**

Company is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel (AGC) to join its legal team. The AGC will report to and assist the General Counsel with all legal matters.

## Duties and Responsibilities

The AGC will have a variety of duties and responsibilities, including:

* Representing Company at all times in such a manner to enhance its reputation
* Regularly and actively participating in industry-related organizations to network and promote the interests of Company
* Promoting the growth and development of client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships
* Assisting with negotiations with Owners and/or Owners' Counsel
* Managing and negotiating subcontract amendments
* Researching unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes
* Performing pre-litigation work to minimize risks and costs and to maximize Company's legal rights
* Developing solutions to complex legal questions and problems
* Providing training on substantive legal topics to both Company staff and affiliates
* Working with individual projects to address potential issues and seek means of cost-effective resolution
* Assisting with E-Discovery and document retention
* Assisting Risk Management in management of insurance claims and coverage related issues
* Reviewing external invoices for legal services

## Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for the AGC role will have:

* Minimum of three years' experience practicing law, preferably with an emphasis on litigation
* Knowledgeable of construction law, contract law, insurance coverage law, and defective construction claims
* Working knowledge of bankruptcy law, OSHA, labor/employment law, workers' compensation, real estate law, tort and/or personal injury
* Experience managing e-discovery production

## Environmental/Working Conditions

The AGC will mainly work in an office environment (95%) with occasional field visits (5%). The AGC will also be capable of travel to other office locations. The position will be based in the Company's Atlanta Office.
