The ideal candidate will possess excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills, a strong academic record, and be admitted to practice law in Ohio (or be eligible to waive into Ohio). The position involves complex drafting, tax analysis, project management, client interaction, and counsel regarding choice of entity, formation, and governance.

Duties:

  • Draft complex trusts, wills, and other estate planning documents.
  • Conduct legal research on tax, estate planning, and trust administration issues.
  • Analyze tax implications and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
  • Manage projects related to estate planning and administration, including coordinating with clients, financial advisors, and other professionals.
  • Interact with clients to understand their goals and objectives and provide tailored legal advice.
  • Prepare gift and estate tax returns and assist with tax compliance matters.
  • Advise clients on choice of entity selection, formation, and governance matters, including LLCs, partnerships, and S-corporations.
  • Provide counsel on trust and estate administration issues, including probate proceedings and trust distributions.
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting trusts, estates, and tax matters.

Requirements:

  • 5 or more years of trusts and estates experience.
  • Strong research, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Ohio or eligibility to waive into Ohio.
  • Experience in complex drafting, tax analysis, and client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Certifications:
