Job Overview: A law firm specializing in intellectual property law is seeking a highly skilled Patent Lawyer to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution, particularly in 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies. They must possess excellent academic credentials, exceptional analytical abilities, and superior verbal and written communication skills. An Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent is preferred. Job Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities in various technical fields, including 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents related to patent matters.
  • Conduct patentability, infringement, and validity analyses.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel on intellectual property matters to clients.
  • Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal teams to identify patentable inventions and develop patent strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Extensive experience in patent prosecution related to 5G, Wi-Fi, AI, processor and memory systems, image processing, and RF front-end technologies.
  • Strong academic credentials with a focus on Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO) or registration eligibility.
  • Admission to and good standing with the Bar, or eligibility to waive in.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Registration with the United States Patent Trademark Office (USPTO).
