A law firm in New York City is seeking a seasoned Lateral Corporate - Restructuring and Special Situations Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience representing creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and/or special situations financings. Work closely with the Global Finance team, collaborating with the premier Business Restructuring and Reorganization team. Opportunity to engage in high-profile, top-of-the-capital-structure representations for hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions.

 

Duties:

  • Represent creditors or borrowers in liability management transactions.
  • Negotiate debtor-in-possession (DIP) financings.
  • Structure bankruptcy exit financings.
  • Handle special situations financings.
  • Collaborate with the Business Restructuring & Reorganization team on various matters.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate restructuring and special situations finance.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy law and financial transactions.
  • Experience representing financial institutions in chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar.
