Lansing office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks associate attorney with 0-3 years of experience in a law firm. The candidate will perform legal services including legal research, drafting motions, pleadings, and briefs. Will appear on behalf of and advocate for clients at oral argument in appellate courts. When delegated by the Owner, prospect for new clients through marketing, networking, writing articles, and speaking engagements. Conduct regular file reviews and other procedural duties as required by firm policy. Work mostly on Family and Child Welfare appeals, but will be willing to work on other types of appeals if the need arises. Must be willing and available at times to work outside normal office hours in order to meet deadlines. Assist in proactively setting case strategy and initiating actions that benefit the client rather than awaiting instructions. Work in cooperation with firm staff to efficiently, cost-effectively, and promptly deliver the client work product. Must be licensed or in the process of obtaining a license in Michigan. Editor/Author in Law Review is required. Should be familiar with or willing to learn Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office Suite.
