Duties

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications for clients in diverse industries such as automotive systems, medical devices, industrial-process handling, and more.
  • Develop and implement patent strategies to protect clients' inventions.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-practice studies to assess the viability of patent applications.
  • Prepare opinion letters on patent issues.
  • Conduct due diligence in patent matters.
  • Negotiate technology agreements on behalf of clients.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • An undergraduate degree and/or technical experience in mechanical engineering arts (an advanced degree is preferred).
  • State Bar admission.
  • United States Patent and Trademark Office registration.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Certifications

  • State Bar admission.
  • Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with . patent laws.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
