Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney to join their team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will possess 1 year of coverage litigation and commercial business experience, be organized, and efficient, and have excellent research and writing skills. This individual must be capable of multitasking, analyzing complex issues, and communicating effectively while managing a busy caseload independently.

Duties:

• Interact with clients while managing a busy caseload
• Draft pleadings discovery demands, perform legal research, answer complaints, and draft dispositive motions
• Conduct depositions, argue motions, and attend court hearings and trials
• Responsible for the day-to-day handling of litigated cases and assisting with oversight of several national client accounts
• Draft coverage reports and reservation of rights letters

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of coverage litigation and commercial business experience
• Organized, efficient, and excellent research and writing skills
• Ability to multitask, analyze complex issues, and communicate effectively
• Willingness to work independently and manage paralegals

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois
• Licensing in Indiana or Wisconsin would be helpful

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research and writing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
• Familiarity with insurance coverage litigation and commercial business matters
