This role involves working closely with inventors on newly created products, assisting in identifying patentable inventions, and drafting patent applications. The ideal candidate should have a background in electrical engineering or biotechnology, along with prior experience in patent law.

Job Overview:

• Work closely with inventors on newly developed products.
• Assist in identifying patentable inventions and conducting research on current patented technologies.
• Draft patent applications with the support of the patent team and track the patent application process.
• Conduct ability searches regularly and respond to client needs and challenges.
• Correspond with the . Patent and Trademark Office, responding to office actions.
• Meet billable hour requirements consistently.

Duties:

• Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created products.
• Assist in the identification of patentable inventions.
• Research current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable work.
• Draft patent applications with the assistance of the patent team.
• Track the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on track.
• Complete ability searches regularly.
• Solve client challenges and respond to client needs.
• Respond to office actions and correspond with the . Patent and Trademark Office.
• Consistently meet billable hour requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
• Master’s Degree or PhD desired.
• 3+ years of professional experience.
• USPTO Registration required.
• Backgrounds in electrical engineering or biotechnology.
• Prior experience working in the area of patent law.
