A law firm in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is seeking an Entry-level Personal Injury Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys, gaining hands-on experience in personal injury cases, and will be responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury matters.

Duties:

  • Work closely with clients to understand the extent of their injuries and provide legal guidance.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies and opposing counsel on behalf of clients.
  • Represent clients in court during personal injury proceedings.
  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, including auto accidents, slip and falls, premises liability claims, and wrongful death cases.
  • Draft and respond to discovery, motions, and legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and writing.
  • Collaborate with experts from various disciplines for report drafting and deposition preparation.
  • Utilize substantial knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
  • At least 1 year of experience or recent law school graduate.
  • Experience in pre-suit and litigating personal injury on the plaintiff's side is a plus.
  • Experience drafting and responding to motions is an asset.
  • Strong writing and legal research skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.
  • Attorneys with a portable caseload will receive preferential consideration.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with personal injury case management.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with experts from various disciplines.
