Job Overview:

The Workers' Compensation Attorney will represent clients in workers' compensation cases. They will handle all aspects of case management, including drafting legal documents, attending court appearances, conducting depositions, and providing legal counsel to clients.

Duties:

  • Review and prepare summaries of medical records
  • Prepare motions and court documents
  • Cover hearings and attend court appearances regularly
  • Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed
  • Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trials, and appellate activity
  • Draft discovery requests and respond to discovery requests from opposing counsel
  • Draft and respond to discovery-related motions
  • Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses
  • Draft motions for summary judgment

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in Workers' Compensation law
  • Admitted to practice in the State of New York
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent research abilities
  • Superior written and oral communication skills

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research methods and databases
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently
