Tax Senior Associate Nonprofit: Wichita, KS

FORVIS is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our team in Wichita, KS. In this role, you will work closely with others to plan for the future and help a variety of nonprofit organizations avoid surprises, coordinate tax strategies, and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide tax compliance, tax provision, and tax advisory services to tax-exempt organizations with an emphasis on higher education institutions, associations, healthcare entities, social service organizations, and grant-making foundations
- Assist in supervising, developing, and coaching professional tax staff
- Develop and manage client relationships
- Provide timely and unmatched client service and exceed client expectations
- Represent FORVIS in the marketplace at networking events
- Participate in the proposal process for potential new clients
- Contribute to FORVIS-sponsored technical guidance for internal and external publications and internal learning and development sessions
- Work with your team to assign projects and resolve scheduling conflicts

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience working with 990 forms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant progressive tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and public accounting experience
- CPA license or have satisfied the 150-credit hour requirement necessary to obtain a CPA license

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Law degree, or a related field

Skills and Attributes:

- Relevant progressive experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate tax and experience in public accounting
- Strong sense of ownership for delivering high-quality service to clients
- Experience servicing multiple client engagements
- Excellent supervisory, team-building, and time-management skills
- Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solution-focused attitude
- Willingness to take initiative
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet target dates
