A law firm in Greenville is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in private practice. The ideal candidate will have experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Supporting benefits and compensation in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability experience is advantageous. The Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney must be detail-oriented and possess excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal support for qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements
  • Assist in benefits and compensation matters related to M&A transactions
  • Handle ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability cases (if experienced)
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft legal documents and correspondence
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of work

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice
  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA accredited law school
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in the relevant jurisdiction

 

Skills:

  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements
  • Detail-oriented
