A law firm in Boston is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation, preferably with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials, excellent research, writing, and communication skills, and experience in deposition-taking, brief writing, and oral motion practice before the courts. Additional experience in trademark and/or copyright litigation is advantageous. Bar admission is required.

 

Duties:

  • Handle patent litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
  • Engage in oral motion practice before the courts.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client communications.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Manage case deadlines and document production.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Background in electrical or mechanical engineering (BSEE/BSME preferred).
  • Experience with trademark and/or copyright litigation is a plus.
  • Strong academic background from a reputable law school.
  • Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.

 

Skills:
