A law firm is seeking a Trusts And Estates Litigation Attorney for its San Francisco, CA office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Job Overview: The Trusts And Estates Litigation Attorney will primarily handle litigation matters related to trusts and estates, including drafting legal documents, participating in dispute resolution processes, and providing legal counsel to clients.

Duties:

  • Review and drafting of communications, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Participation in mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, and trials or arbitrations.
  • Effective communication with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court staff.
  • Development of litigation strategies and tactics in collaboration with others.
  • Maintaining high standards for professionalism, ethics, and work quality.
  • Conducting legal research using Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Meeting or exceeding billable hours requirement.
  • Working independently and as a team member.
  • Managing own caseload and meeting internal and statutory deadlines.
  • Client management from intake through resolution.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of recent experience in civil litigation, preferably with probate and trust litigation experience.
  • An active member of the California State Bar.
  • Proficiency in California Rules of Court and local rules.
  • Knowledge of the California probate and trust administration process is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to effectively work with support staff.
  • Positive attitude, intellectually curious, dependable, and motivated.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a team and individually.
  • Ability to set goals and mentor others.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in LexisNexis or Westlaw and law firm client management software is preferred.
  • Client management skills.
  • Solid command of English, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, emphasizing Word, Excel, and Outlook.
