Minimum Salary: USD $95,.
Maximum Salary: USD $162,.
Typical Starting Salary: 112,500 - 129,000

Job Description:

This role involves representing Liberty Mutual and our policyholders in complex civil litigation matters, including claims for monetary damages or compensation for personal injuries or property damage of mid to high level exposure.

Responsibilities:

Preparing and arguing motions and appeals
Conducting formal discovery, including depositions, written discovery, and court appearances
Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal memoranda
Providing legal advice and services to clients and claims on relevant issues
Staying informed on developments in the law
Referring matters to appropriate firm resources for high-level expertise

Qualifications:

Connecticut Bar membership
Special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience as first chair
Experience in insurance defense strongly preferred

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external partners
Detail-oriented and analytical thinking abilities
Persuasive oral and written communication skills
Broad knowledge of insurance law
Familiarity with the latest developments in the practice of law and related fields
Process-oriented mindset with the ability to meet deadlines and stay organized
Proficiency with technology that supports remote work and reduces costs
