The Role:

OpenGov is seeking an Associate Commercial Counsel to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will support the legal needs of our sales and business teams by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements. You will also provide legal guidance and support on a wide range of issues, including data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, master services agreements, and professional services agreements
• Provide legal support and guidance to sales and business teams on a wide range of issues, including data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and product, to ensure that contracts are consistent with internal policies and procedures
• Assist with the development and implementation of company-wide legal policies and procedures
• Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations and advise internal teams on potential impact to the business
• Assist with other legal matters as needed

Requirements:

• . from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with at least one state bar
• 2-4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a focus on technology transactions and/or government contracts
• Strong understanding of SaaS and software licensing models
• Familiarity with data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal issues
