The ideal candidate will be responsible for file review, legal analysis, extensive legal research, drafting documents, representing clients in court, and trial preparation. The Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing legal support and representation to clients in insurance coverage matters. They will be responsible for conducting legal analysis, drafting documents, and representing clients in various legal proceedings.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests
  • Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
  • Assist with trial preparation and attendance
  • May require some travel for client meetings or court appearances
  • Respond promptly to email and phone inquiries from clients and colleagues
  • Maintain excellent client relations and telephone manner

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admission to practice law in the state of Oregon; admission in other states is a plus
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research abilities and written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-manage workload

 

Experience:

6+ years’ experience in insurance coverage preferred
