A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate Attorney in New York City. The Mid-Level Associate Attorney will work directly with partners, collaborating with other attorneys to represent clients in legal proceedings, draft legal documents, provide legal advice, and try cases. They will have direct client contact, represent clients in court and before government agencies, and negotiate settlements. Additionally, they will perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.

 

Duties:

  • Work directly with partners and collaborate with other attorneys
  • Represent clients in court and before government agencies
  • Conduct direct client contact and maintain primary relationship with clients
  • Research, prepare, and draft legal documents
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
  • Provide oversight to less-experienced attorneys
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from a Top-15 law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in criminal defense/investigations, or 3 years plus a judicial clerkship
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interest in criminal law and jury trial work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from a Top-15 law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the New York State Bar

 

Experience:

4+ years of legal experience, preferably in criminal defense/investigations, or 3 years plus a judicial clerkship
