Are you a tax expert looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity? BDO, one of the world's leading accounting and advisory firms, is currently seeking a Tax Managing Director to join our team in San Jose, CA. As a Tax Managing Director, you will use your industry knowledge to advise clients on tax implications, evaluate and select alternative actions to minimize tax burden and compliance costs, and act as the primary client contact for complex tax issues. You will also be a critical member of our leadership team, providing direct supervision and guidance to our associates and managers.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens
- Conduct hands-on client service delivery and adhere to firm policies and standards
- Identify complex tax issues and provide research methodology for efficient resolution
- Apply technical expertise regarding income tax provisions, including international tax, valuation allowance credits, business combinations, and stock-based compensation issues
- Assist with developing and implementing efficient and effective tax strategies to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes
- Specialize in one or more areas of taxation, such as individual, corporate, state and local, international, and more
- Introduce and develop new ideas to improve client and firm position, including tax reduction and non-tax benefits
- Act as a career advisor to associates, senior associates, and managers
- Provide performance feedback and manage workload of team members
- Develop and maintain client relationships

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics
- Master's degree in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- 10+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or consulting/professional services
- Industry expertise in one or more tax specialties preferred
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and tax research databases
- Strong communication, delegation, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and manage a team of tax professionals
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client ,000
- Colorado Range: $118,590 - $134,282
- New York City/Valhalla Range: $200,000 - $245,000
- Washington Range: $115,000 - $300,000
