A law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney for their Birmingham, AL, location.

Job Overview:

The Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney will represent clients in commercial litigation matters. They will prepare legal documents, communicate with clients and manage attorney(s), conduct legal research, and effectively manage their caseload.

Duties:

  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Confidently take and defend depositions.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and managing attorney(s) to understand the client’s concerns.
  • Represent clients in court, at mediations, and or settlement conferences.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel or insurance companies.
  • Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the firm’s clients.
  • Communicate clearly and logically (orally and in writing) with regulatory agencies, courts, counsel, clients, and managing attorney(s).
  • Organize and manage documents from multiple sources during multidistrict and other complex litigation.
  • Manage caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Try simple matters with little supervision.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence (.) from an accredited law school.
  • 3 years of litigation experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Time management, organization, efficiency, and reliability are essential qualities required.

Education and Certifications:

  • Doctor of Jurisprudence (.) from an accredited law school.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical mindset.
