Exceptional Layoff & Sluggish Hiring Continues, LawCrossing Finds Nearly 93,800 Jobs Nationwide
November 16, 2011
Pasadena, CA, November 16, 2011 — The U.S. Senate staff members are investigation about the legal education system in the U.S. The issues to be covered in the investigation include statistics on law school job placement and student-loan debt. This would provide as a backdrop to congressional hearings on the issue.

This move is a response to the query about the students being lured with bogus data by the nation's law schools. A lot of schools have sustained to report employment rates well over 90% for graduating classes, in spite of exceptional layoffs and sluggish hiring at the nation's law firms.

The Law School Transparency cofounder, Kyle McEntee, believes that law schools count anyone with a job as employed, whether they are bartending, earning an hourly wage as a paralegal or making $160,000 a year at a major law firm. According to McEntee, the employment rate for law graduates has hovered between 66% and 74% since 2001.

LawCrossing lists nearly 93,800 jobs nationwide. About 20,000 jobs for law students, 24,500+ attorney jobs, and nearly 7,500 jobs for legal staff have also been found by LawCrossing.
