LawCrossing Has Found Nearly 92,500 Jobs In Spite Of The Ups And Downs In The Legal Industry
November 10, 2011
Pasadena, CA, November 10, 2011 — According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic's Friday report, the legal sector managed to add 400 jobs in October. But it was not enough to defy job losses that took place for two consecutive months. This has got the industry substantially fewer positions than there were in October 2010.

The nation is going through difficult economic times. In reaction to this, about three of the law schools in Missouri have decreased their number of applications. The University of Missouri at Columbia reduced its enrollment by 11 percent while Washington University in St. Louis increased its enrollment by 12 percent. A similar decline in the number of applications is expected by St. Louis University Law School. UMKC Law School actually planned to increase its enrollment by 4 percent to keep the total number of students in the school the same.

According to adjusted figures released Friday by the BLS, the legal sector had lost nearly 1,200 jobs in September and 300 in August. The last month that the industry witnessed positive job growth was in July, after adding 4,100 jobs.

LawCrossing lists nearly 92,500 jobs nationwide while nearly about 600+ jobs have been listed in Missouri. Over 24,000 jobs for attorneys, 6,900+ legal staff jobs, and nearly 20,000 jobs for law students and nearly 900 summer associate jobs have also been found by LawCrossing. LawCrossing tracks down every legal job through an extensive research process. The main advantage that LawCrossing offers is that most of the jobs listed on the site are directly from employer websites. This means that there are opportunities listed from the biggest law firms, in-house jobs as well as for working with small-town law firms all over the country.
