A law firm in Richmond is seeking a Regulatory Associate Attorney who will maintain positive client contact, participate in marketing efforts, perform legal research, draft necessary documents, and provide legal representation to clients. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree, be a member of the applicable State Bar (or have an expectation of becoming a member), and possess knowledge of SCC regulatory law. This role may involve working independently or under the supervision of other attorneys, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to ethical standards.

 

Duties:

  • Maintain positive contact with clients while observing confidentiality in client matters.
  • Participate in the firm’s marketing efforts and contribute to client development.
  • Perform legal research and analysis on complex regulatory issues.
  • Draft necessary legal documents for client representation and route them through appropriate office procedures.
  • Conduct discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
  • Review and analyze newly assigned and existing matters to provide ongoing legal representation until conclusion.
  • Formulate and issue well-founded legal opinions to clients.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding the status of their legal matters.
  • Maintain membership in the state bar and complete all required Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements annually.
  • Adhere to ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct and comply with the firm’s professional liability insurer's requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Member of the applicable State Bar, or expectation of becoming a member.
  • Knowledge of SCC regulatory law and legal practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and under supervision as required.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week as needed to fulfill job duties.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications (if applicable):

Admission to the applicable State Bar.
