Job Summary:

The State and Local (SALT) Manager at Citrin Cooperman is responsible for providing excellent client service in the National State and Local Tax Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SALT, including income/franchise tax, personal income tax, and sales/use tax, as well as experience working in a public accounting or law firm. The SALT Manager will work in a highly interactive and dynamic team environment, providing tax research and analysis on a wide array of SALT matters for clients. Responsibilities:

- Provide excellent client service in Citrin Cooperman's National SALT practice.
- Conduct tax research and analysis on various SALT matters, including income and indirect tax nexus, apportionment and revenue sourcing, sales taxability, credits and incentives, SALT planning and implementation, M&A due diligence, and SALT controversies.
- Collaborate with clients and internal team members to effectively address SALT issues and provide solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members and clients.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and research skills in a corporate or firm environment.
- Continuously learn and apply new concepts to provide real-time solutions for clients.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of multi-state tax concepts.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, LLM, or Master's in Taxation.
- CPA and/or JD preferred.
- 6+ years of tax experience, with at least 4 years focused on SALT.
- Ability to build strong team relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the company.
- Comprehensive understanding of multi-state tax concepts.

Salary Information:

For positions in New York and California, the salary range is $130,000 - $220,000. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
