Job Title: State & Local Tax Manager - Full Time Salary: Competitive and based on experience Department: Income Franchise Practice Experience: Minimum of 4 years Location: Various locations with up to 20% travel Company: PwC Overview: PwC is a leading global professional services firm that provides various tax services to clients. We are currently seeking a State & Local Tax Manager to join our Income Franchise practice. This role will involve working with clients to solve business issues related to tax laws, restructuring, and communication of local tax developments. As a Manager, you will be responsible for assessing our client’s tax burden and recommending solutions that align with their business objectives. Responsibilities: - Develop new skills outside of comfort zone - Act to resolve issues that hinder team effectiveness - Coach team members and encourage personal development - Analyze complex ideas and make recommendations - Use multiple sources of information to develop solutions - Address sub-standard work and ensure compliance with firm and state tax laws - Utilize data and insights to inform decision-making - Develop a point of view on global trends and their impact on clients - Manage different perspectives to achieve consensus and positive outcomes - Simplify complex messages and highlight key points - Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting - CPA, Member of the Bar, or other relevant credentials - Minimum of 4 years of experience in state and local tax laws - Master's degree in Taxation or Political Science preferred - Thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws and technical skills - Experience with FAS 109, unitary filing, apportionment methodologies, tax base rules, tax research, and compliance - Ability to build and maintain client relationships and involvement in the community - Strong communication and project management skills - Familiarity with CRM systems and automation/digitization in a professional services environment - Knowledge of alternative fee arrangements and pricing strategies We are transforming the way we deliver tax services and are looking for individuals who are passionate about leveraging technology and innovation to drive efficiency and provide value to our clients.
