- Program Application Schedule: June 1 - August 1
- Semester: Spring
- Eligibility: 1L, 2L, 3L law students and graduate law students enrolled at least half-time
- Salary: Unpaid, but eligible for Transit Subsidy Benefit Program
- Locations: Nationwide, including Washington ., Anchorage, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Boston, Atlanta, and more
- Departmental Mission: Premier conservation agency responsible for legal work for the DOI
- Workload: Extensive litigation and program counseling for various offices and bureaus
- Responsibilities: Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, attend hearings and meetings, assist with discovery in active federal cases
- Focus: Environmental and administrative law, Indian law, appeals under the Freedom of Information Act
- Opportunities: Participate in conference calls and strategy sessions with other agency counsel, including Justice Department lawyers and agency officials
