A law firm in Wilmington is seeking a Restructuring Associate Attorney with substantial experience in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, including significant company-side representation, along with a mix of other representations.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in complex restructuring matters, both in-court and out-of-court.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating restructuring transactions, including debt restructuring, bankruptcy proceedings, and distressed asset sales.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters and provide strategic guidance.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including restructuring plans, agreements, and court filings.
  • Collaborate with clients, creditors, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes in restructuring proceedings.
  • Represent clients in bankruptcy court hearings, negotiations, and mediation sessions.
  • Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide proactive legal advice.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar and eligibility to practice law in Delaware.
  • 5+ years of experience in restructuring law, with a focus on both in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
  • Substantial company-side representation experience, demonstrating the ability to advocate for clients facing financial distress.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws, including Chapter 11 proceedings, and experience with distressed debt transactions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
