A law firm in Charlotte is seeking a skilled Workers' Compensation Attorney to represent injured plaintiff employees in their North Carolina workers’ compensation cases. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal advice and representation throughout all stages of the workers’ compensation process, from pre-litigation to settlement negotiation, and demonstrate exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

 

Duties:

  • Represent injured plaintiff-employees in their NC workers’ compensation cases
  • Provide legal advice and representation during all phases of workers’ compensation cases
  • Assist injured employees in obtaining benefits under the NC Workers’ Compensation Act
  • Litigate cases at the Deputy Commissioner, Full Commission, and Court of Appeals level
  • Draft pleadings, discovery, orders, motions, and briefs
  • Negotiate settlement agreements and terms with opposing parties
  • Oversee and manage Workers’ Compensation Case Managers and Paralegals

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in North Carolina
  • 5+ years of legal experience in Workers’ Compensation law firm or insurance defense firm
  • Experience with complex Workers’ Compensation claims
  • Strong analytical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Extensive knowledge of medical issues in Workers’ Compensation claims and hearing process
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn software programs
  • Experience with Litify software preferred
