A law firm is seeking a Post-Conviction Relief Attorney:

Job Overview:

The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will handle post-conviction relief cases, advise clients on legal rights, and represent clients in various legal proceedings. The ideal candidate should have experience in criminal defense and immigration law, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be proficient in English and Spanish.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights in matters and draft legal documents about their case
• Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation
• Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice
• Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing
• Manage court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
• Manage workload of cases and provide legal analysis to determine case benefits
• Collaborate with fellow associates and assist in strategizing on cases

Requirements:

• Experience with criminal defense or immigration law
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a team player and collaborate effectively with colleagues

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize workload effectively
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and motions
