Summary:

The Managing Attorney at a Full Service Legal firm will be responsible for representing the State in all legal proceedings related to child support enforcement. This includes providing litigation services, supervising Staff Attorneys, and serving as the liaison with court clerks and judges. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and a license to practice law in the State of operations, as well as experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor. Responsibilities:

- Represent the State in all legal proceedings related to child support enforcement
- Provide litigation services and leadership to Staff Attorneys
- Serve as the liaison with court clerks, magistrates, and judges
- Supervise Staff Attorneys and assigned legal support staff
- Assign cases and monitor case flow through the legal department
- Measure productivity and set goals for legal staff
- Advise operations supervisory staff on appropriate legal actions
- Ensure program policies comply with federal and state regulations
- Devise and implement strategies to increase operations and legal productivity
- Ensure proper legal representation in all child support matters
- Provide monthly legal case tracking statistical reports to Legal Director
- Partner with the State and other agencies to improve relationships and educate on child support enforcement
- Evaluate performance, identify training needs, and provide feedback to legal team members
- Regular and timely attendance
- Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree and a license to practice law in the State of operations
- Two years legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor (child support enforcement preferred)
- Two years management experience preferred, but not required

- Excellent understanding and application of laws, rules, and regulations related to child support enforcement
- Strong organizational, written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of legal research methods and techniques, legal principles and practices, and case management systems is also important. Additionally, you should be customer service oriented, maintain positive interactions with the public, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Some travel may be required for this position.
