A law firm in Springfield, MO, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to assist in various areas of civil defense litigation. The ideal candidate will be comfortable researching and handling complex legal issues and have an interest in state and federal litigation.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research on various aspects of civil defense litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
• Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and development.
• Review and analyze case documents and evidence.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions.
• Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and legal precedents.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in civil defense litigation preferred.
• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Bar in the state of Missouri.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
