We are currently seeking a Complex Claims Specialist - Miscellaneous Professional Liability to join our growing team and help us continue to deliver superior customer service and claims expertise.

As a Complex Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for adjudicating assigned claims within given authority and providing operational support to the claims team. This will include adjusting and resolving complex to severe claims, drafting coverage letters, reviewing and analyzing claim documentation and legal filings, and driving litigation best practices. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and train other claims examiners, identify emerging exposures and claims trends, and develop content for training programs.

To be successful in this role, you should have 8+ years of claims handling experience or a JD from an ABA accredited law school. You should also have advanced knowledge of coverage and the litigation process, as well as strong negotiation and communication skills. A degree from an accredited College or University is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adjust and resolve complex to severe claims, including all phases of litigation

• Draft complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters

• Review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings

• Drive litigation best practices and lead defense strategy on litigated files

• Mentor and train Claims Examiners and Associate Claim Examiners

• Utilize superior knowledge and experience to achieve positive claim outcomes through investigation, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution

• Identify emerging exposures and claims trends

• Identify and track suspected fraudulent claims

• Accurately document claim files in compliance with company policies and regulatory authorities

• Develop content and conduct training for claims team and underwriters as needed

• Provide operational support to the claims team

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of claims handling experience or a JD from an ABA accredited law school

• Advanced knowledge of coverage within the team's specialty or focus

• Advanced knowledge of litigation process and negotiation skills

• Experience in mentoring and training other claims examiners

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Advanced analytical skills

the complex claims specialist - miscellaneous professional liability is a high-level adjuster role that adjudicates assigned claims within given authority and provides operational support to the claims team, this person also:

• accurately documents claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authorities
