Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled Patent Agent to join their team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in AI/ML technologies, with a background in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or related technical fields. The Patent Agent will draft and prosecute patent applications, conduct prior art searches, and stay abreast of AI technology and patent laws.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI technologies.
• Collaborate with inventors to assess the patentability of new AI technologies.
• Conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest AI technology and patent laws.
• Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Proficiency in AI/ML theory: backpropagation, regularization, optimization, preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments.
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active member and in good standing of CO Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.
