Job Overview:

The Intellectual Property Patent Agent will be responsible for assisting in patent prosecution related to various fields, particularly focusing on chemistry, biochemistry, and biosensors. The role requires a keen understanding of continuous monitoring devices, analyte sensing chemistry, electrochemical or amperometric signaling, RNA/DNA/Aptamer signal transducers, polymer coatings, membranes, and mediators. Patent Bar membership is required for this position.

Duties:

  • Assist in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to chemistry, biochemistry, and biosensors.
  • Conduct patentability searches and provide analysis of prior art.
  • Communicate with clients regarding patent matters and provide strategic advice.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop patent strategies and prepare responses to office actions.
  • Conduct intellectual property due diligence investigations.

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  • 5+ years of patent prosecution experience, preferably with a focus on the specified fields.
  • Excellent academic performance in relevant coursework.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Membership in the Patent Bar.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
