Director, Privacy & Data Protection - Job Summary:

BDO is looking for a Director to join their thriving Privacy & Data Protection Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals. The Director will be responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing new opportunities, managing project teams, and ensuring timely and high-quality work product.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies for clients
- Build cross-cultural functionality for clients to implement global privacy programs
- Manage BDO team members and collaborate with other BDO firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information on privacy laws to clients
- Guide team members on project budget and scheduling
- Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO's quality risk management and data protection frameworks
- Maintain relationships with clients and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
- Manage day-to-day project requirements and on-site/remote team
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries and requests
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
- Ensure high-quality services for corporate clients
- Update customer relationship management for pipeline reporting
- Review client reports and provide feedback to team members
- Develop proposals and respond to RFP/RFI's
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans
- Participate in business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance meetings as needed
- Proofread and edit executive reports
- Manage BDO client and partner expectations
- Mentor team members to ensure consistency and BDO standards in work product
- Manage multiple large and complex engagements
- Manage client expectations and support senior level executive presentations
- Support Data Protection Officer for clients
- Develop and manage project budget and review invoices
- Act as a leader and maintain a professional attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Manage a team of professionals on a project or regional basis
- Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Train team members on relevant software and processes
- Evaluate performance and assist in professional development
- Provide periodic feedback and complete performance evaluations
- Act as a mentor

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Master's or JD/MBA preferred
- 10+ years of consulting experience required
- 3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
- Experience with Fortune 500 clients preferred
- 5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
- One or more privacy certifications required (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, CDPSE)
- OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Office Suite required, knowledge of database systems and software development preferred
- Multilingual capabilities preferred

Salary Information:

- California Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
