Experience: Minimum 10 years managing legal-side incident response, 6 years building data protection/security/resilience programs, and 4 years advising on contractual provisions related to data protection/security/resilience.

The Senior Legal Counsel, Data Protection will join Splunk's Data Protection Legal team within the Innovation Legal group. This role will involve managing incident response, advising on security and resilience issues, and creating programs and resources for various partners within the business.

H2: What You'll Get to Do

- Manage legal-side handling of incidents, including identifying potential legal risks and directing the creation of legal work products
- Advise on and create resources regarding product vulnerabilities, service outages, and Splunk's security profile and commitments
- Continually propose and advise on operational recommendations and legal requirements based on security and resilience regulatory and technical certification requirements, customer demands, and industry trends
- Create resources and trainings for the Legal and Field Sales organizations on key security and resilience topics
- Partner with Data Protection Legal Commercial colleagues to advise on customer inquiries and escalations and draft amendments to security contractual terms
- Create and provide training to Commercial Legal and Field Sales organizations on security and resilience topics

H2: Must-Have Qualifications

- 10 years minimum experience in managing legal-side incident response
- 6 years minimum experience building data protection/security/resilience programs
- 4 years minimum experience advising on contractual provisions related to data protection/security/resilience
- Foundational knowledge of security and resilience regulatory and technical certification requirements
- Good grasp of the commercial requirements of key data protection/security/resilience compliance programs in the EU/US/APAC
- Experience with SaaS, cloud computing, and enterprise software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent legal drafting, project management, and stakeholder management skills
- High EQ and a strong history of successful cross-functional collaboration
