The organization of District Attorney 20 in Robeson County, North Carolina is seeking two qualified attorneys to join their team as Assistant District Attorneys. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $52, to $97, annually. The District Attorney's office is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases in the district and superior courts. The District Attorney's office is looking for candidates who have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active license to practice law in North Carolina. The ideal candidates will also possess knowledge of federal, state, common, and constitutional law, as well as judicial procedures and rules of evidence. They should also have strong research skills and be able to utilize electronic legal research and other research tools.

The Assistant District Attorneys will be responsible for screening incoming cases, researching and identifying precedence in case law, and preparing cases for trial. They will also be required to meet with victims of crime and handle a caseload of district and superior court cases. The selected candidates will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

The District Attorney's office is looking for candidates who are highly organized, have strong attention to detail, and can meet critical deadlines. They should also possess strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well under pressure. Responsibilities of the Assistant District Attorneys include:

- Screening incoming cases and using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of case facts
- Researching and identifying precedence in case law
- Utilizing electronic legal research and other research tools
- Preparing cases for trial and writing and filing appropriate motions
- Meeting with victims of crime
- Handling a caseload of district and superior court cases
- Interpreting and applying complex criminal laws to information, evidence, and other data
- Conducting legal research and planning, developing, and executing an effective litigation strategy
- Preparing, organizing, and conducting witness examinations
- Delivering opening statements, closing arguments, and evidentiary objections
- Arguing clearly, logically, and persuasively
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with attorneys, law enforcement agencies, and other participants in the criminal justice process
- Producing legal interpretations in a quick and responsive manner for court officials
- Writing reports, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
- Communicating both orally and in writing
- Working independently
