Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their team in Columbus, GA. The ideal candidate will conduct civil and criminal hearings and trials, draft legal documents, maintain organized files, collaborate with clients and senior associates, perform legal research, and provide general counsel.

Duties:

  • Prepare for and conduct civil and criminal hearings and trials
  • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements
  • Keep files organized to ensure accessibility for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Collaborate with clients, senior associates, and other staff to efficiently resolve cases
  • Perform legal research and attend hearings or legal proceedings under supervision
  • Review client issues, analyze options, and determine the best course of action

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia
  • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Successful completion of the State Bar exam
  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
