Organization is hiring for one vacant position in the Commercial, Fair Business & Child Support Section. This position allows a qualified candidate to utilize and enhance their legal skills while serving the civil division’s core mission - protecting the health and welfare of Alaskans.

###Overview

The Commercial, Fair Business & Child Support Section serves Alaskans by representing and advising several state agencies that impact their day-to-day lives. These agencies include the Child Support Services Division, the Division of Insurance, the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing, Permanent Fund Dividend Division, the Regulatory Commission of Alaska, Alaska Housing and Finance Corporation, and other agency clients.

The successful applicant for this position will primarily represent the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing within the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development. This position entails significant and often complex administrative and civil litigation, regulatory and legislative drafting, agency advice, and appellate work.

###Qualifications

Two years of prior legal experience, including a clerkship with the state or federal courts, is preferred. Applicants should possess excellent judgment, excel at developing and nurturing strong working relationships, have strong writing skills, and must be capable of taking initiative and working well independently.

Attorneys are eligible to promote from Attorney 1 through 4 with service and acceptable job performance.
