A law firm in Manchester is seeking a Seasoned Tax Attorney to provide advice on tax consequences, risks, and opportunities for ongoing and new business activities, as well as address tax controversy matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in various tax aspects of commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, business formations, financing, employee compensation and benefits, across multiple industries.

 

Duties:

  • Provide advice on tax implications of ongoing and new business entity structures and activities.
  • Address tax controversy matters and represent clients in tax disputes.
  • Handle individual, partnership, and corporate tax aspects of complex commercial transactions.
  • Structure mergers and acquisitions, business formations, and debt and equity financing to optimize tax efficiency.
  • Advise on employee compensation and benefits, and draft related memoranda and documents.
  • Experience with affordable housing tax credit issues, sales and use tax, and qualified plans is advantageous.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to solve multidimensional tax problems creatively.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA accredited institution.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) Bar.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Substantial experience in tax law, particularly in commercial transactions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and advising on tax implications.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts effectively to clients and colleagues.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Massachusetts (MA) and New Hampshire (NH) Bar.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited institution.
