Job Description: The Senior Trial Attorney at Farmers is responsible for the competent, ethical, and diligent representation of clients in all cases assigned by their supervisor. This may involve handling cases in all areas of tort practice, including those with unique legal or procedural issues and/or severe to catastrophic injuries and/or damages. The role also includes providing guidance, supervision, and training to other attorneys, performing managerial and administrative tasks, and assisting with special assignments as requested by the supervisor. The Senior Trial Attorney must also keep their supervisor informed of their work and any problems encountered, and may consult with the Claims Department on insurance policy questions and legal aspects of personal injury claims. They may also functionally supervise other attorneys as needed and maintain and update computerized litigation support systems. Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required - Bachelor's degree required - Law school degree and member in good standing of the State Bar in the state where the position is located - At least 3 years as an attorney, including civil jury trial experience or equivalent dispositive ADR experience or comparable outside experience - Ability to handle cases of moderate to great exposure and/or complexity with minimum supervision - Public speaking and driving abilities Benefits: - Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location - Bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance - Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, paid time off, paid parental leave, and tuition assistance Location: This is a virtual position with a focus on cases throughout the Los Angeles area, with the potential for in-person appearances as required.
