A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is looking for a Litigation Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience, preferably in transportation litigation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in defending motor carrier clients and handling insurance coverage issues. This role requires strong academic credentials, exceptional writing and analytical skills, as well as experience in deposition, discovery, and motion practice. The candidate must hold a Georgia law license or be prepared to obtain one promptly.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in federal and state court litigation cases, including but not limited to transportation and insurance-related matters.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case facts, and provide strategic legal counsel to clients.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including document production, interrogatories, and requests for admissions.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and experts to gather evidence and support legal arguments.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents to present in court.
  • Participate in mediation, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
  • Attend court hearings and trials, advocating on behalf of clients and presenting oral arguments.
  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents to provide accurate advice and representation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 4-5 years of litigation experience, with a preference for transportation litigation expertise.
  • Proven experience in defending motor carrier clients and handling insurance coverage matters.
  • Strong academic record, demonstrating excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Deposition, discovery, and motion practice experience.
  • Georgia law license is required, or the candidate must be eligible to take the Georgia Bar and able to obtain the license promptly.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
