Corporate Counsel II, Data Privacy Transactions: Salary Information, Job Title, and Experience Salary: The salary for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Job Title: Corporate Counsel II, Data Privacy Transactions Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience practicing law, with at least 3 years of experience negotiating contracts and advising on data privacy laws, including GDPR requirements. Job Description: - Support Microchip in various departments, including Sales, Business Units, HR, IS, MarCom, and Finance, on matters related to data privacy laws and security standards. - Draft, revise, and negotiate commercial contracts with data privacy and network security terms. - Develop and implement data privacy, security, and compliance policies, procedures, guidelines, and training. - Provide legal support for M&A activities, post-M&A integration, and other corporate initiatives. - Work with government agencies, regulators, customers, and cross-functional teams on data privacy and compliance matters. Requirements/Qualifications: - . from an ABA accredited law school and licensed to practice law in a . state. - Undergraduate degree in Business or a related field is highly desirable. - Minimum of 5 years' experience practicing law. - Minimum of 3 years' experience negotiating contracts, including cloud vendor contracts with GDPR-related personal-data processing terms. - Direct experience applying GDPR requirements, including international data transfers, legal-basis analysis, and controller-processor-joint controller analysis and contracting. - Experience with data privacy and protection, network security, ethics, and other regulatory and compliance matters. - Prior experience representing publicly traded technology companies is a plus. - High level of integrity, initiative, and professionalism. - Strong attention to detail and ability to explain complex matters clearly. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills. - Some domestic and international travel may be required.
