The Role:

As a State and Local Tax Experienced Staff- Credits & Incentives, you will be responsible for assisting with client management and providing state and local tax consulting services. This includes tax planning, due diligence, nexus and taxability studies, apportionment and revenue sourcing, voluntary disclosures, audit defense, credits and incentives, and other multistate projects. You will also conduct research and provide technical analysis on various state and local tax issues, as well as identify opportunities for prospects and clients. Additionally, you will stay up-to-date on state and local tax law changes and participate in business development activities as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting (emphasis preferred)
- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax or JD and/or LLM is a plus
- CPA or licensed attorney preferred (must meet educational requirements to obtain license)
- Minimum of 1 year of related tax experience (public accounting preferred)
- Experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues
- Previous experience in state and local government revenue department a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solving and research skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel up to 20%
