A law firm is seeking a Defense Litigation Associate Attorney for their Atlanta, GA office.

 

Job Overview:

The Defense Litigation Associate Attorney will play a pivotal role in all stages of cases, handling professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage matters. They will work closely with seasoned attorneys, contributing to case development, strategy, and execution.

 

Duties:

  • Immersion in all stages of cases from pre-suit claim investigation through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal
  • Analyzing and summarizing legal documents
  • Conducting legal and factual research on people, businesses, and worksites
  • Evaluating cases and strategically developing defenses
  • Conducting client meetings and recommending strategies
  • Investigating facts, planning, preparing, and conducting depositions
  • Preparing and arguing motions
  • Conducting hearings and mediations
  • Preparing witnesses and corporate representatives
  • Briefing at trial and appellate courts
  • Writing defense mediation summaries

 

Requirements:

  • Active license in good standing with the State of Georgia
  • 4-6 years of experience in defense litigation
  • Solid insurance defense experience preferred
  • Experience with professional liability and/or coverage litigation a plus

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
  • Bar admission in Georgia
