# Contract Attorney

The Alaska Public Defender Agency (Agency) is seeking experienced contract attorneys to provide legal representation to indigent individuals in criminal cases across the state of Alaska. The Agency offers compensation for contractors on either a flat fee or hourly basis, in addition to covering some case related expenses and services.

## Requirements

To be considered as a contract attorney with the Agency, applicants must meet the following requirements:

* Be admitted to the Alaska bar
* Possess an active State of Alaska business license
* Maintain professional liability insurance
* Possess trial experience
* Have outstanding writing and analytical skills
* Be able to work independently to research and compose legal briefs
* Possess strong oral advocacy skills
* Handle cases to completion at the trial court level

## Compensation

The Agency offers compensation for contract attorneys on either a flat fee or hourly basis, in addition to covering some case related expenses and services.
